Latisse

Latisse is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for growing longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes. It is applied once daily topically along the lash line for a 16-week treatment period. Not only is Latisse safe for use in the delicate and sensitive ophthalmic area, but it is clinically proven highly effective in nearly 80% of patients.

With over 1.5 million bottles of Latisse prescribed last year alone, it is becoming an increasing popular, cost-effective, and convenient way to achieve markedly more voluminous eyelashes. As a prescription-only treatment, it is more effective than any other over the counter alternatives.

.

How does it work?

Though the exact mechanism of action is unknown, Latisse works by affecting the growth phase of the eyelashes, both lengthening the phase itself as well as increasing the number of hairs growing.

When can I see results?

After 4 weeks, patients can begin seeing longer lashes, with full results achieved in 16 weeks. Following this time period, patients can discuss follow-up maintenance programs with Dr. Rokhsar.

Is it safe?

Side effects of Latisse occur in only about 4% of patients, and include minor eye irritation, skin darkening, dryness, redness, and burning. Patients are also instructed to remove contact lenses prior to application, and insert them 15 minutes afterward.

Though some patients may have heard conflicting reports about Latisse changing the color of ones eyes, these reports are extremely rare, and occured only when the products in Latisse were applied directly to the eye.
